WELCOME TO THE GREAT ESCAPE FAQ !
You will find here all the information you need to play (and win) our game.
There are four species of apes in The Great Escape : Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Orangutans and Bonobos.
Each of them has a special power, giving them a little edge compared to the other species.
Ultimately, there is no โbest speciesโ.
Depending on the map and your playing style, you will find that itโs best for you to play with different species
The Great Escape Game has 25 different maps created after the 25 backgrounds of GLMR JUNGLE NFTs.
Each week, the players compete on a different map. If you happen to have the an NFT with the same background as the map of the week, youโll get a few extra seconds of playing time bonus!
The maps and backgrounds are categorized in 4 categories (based after the rarity of GLMR JUNGLE NFT backgrounds).
The rarer your background and the more advantaged you will be when playing that map
To play the Great Escape, you only need 1 GLMR JUNGLE NFT +1 $BANANAS (GLMB) per game session.
However, you can also decide to give a little boost to your GLMR JUNGLE NFT by equipping it with Badges.
There are 2 types of Badges: Great Badges and Minor Badges
There are two Great Badges : Species and Apemocrats
The Species
The Species badges give and extra boost to the special ability of your ape (HP, speed and/or Jump).
There is one type of Species Badge for each species of apes present in the game : ๐ฆ Gorilla (+HP), ๐ Chimpanzees (+speed), ๐ฆง Orangutans (+jump) and ๐ Bonobos (+HP,+speed,+jump).
This type of Badge only works when equipped on the right category. For example, if you have a Gorilla Species Badge, it can only be equipped on a Gorilla (hence boosting its HP). It cannot be equipped on an Orangutan.
The Apemocrats
The Apemocrats badges were airdropped to GLMR APES holders who actively took part in the DAOโs vote between April and July 2022.
These Badges come in 4 classes (๐ฅ Bronze, ๐ฅ Silver, ๐ Golden and ๐ Diamond) and give an extra bonus on the fruit score of the players at the end of their game session.
The higher the class of the Apemocrat, the higher the percentage of bonus on your fruit score:
On top of using a GREAT Badge you can also equip your GLMJ with 1 Minor Bagde too!
On top of equipping your GLMJ NFT with a Great Badge, you can also add to it a Minor Badge.
There are 6 Minor Badges:
The main way to get points while playing the game is to roam the map in order to collect as many (good) fruits as possible!
The Good ones:
Not all fruits were created equal thoughโฆ Some fruits are usually rarer and harder to catch but will give you more points than others
The Bad (rotten) ones:
All fruits have their rotten counterpart. These bad fruits have a slightly different colour and a dim pale green aura around them. You should stay way and avoid eating them as they will give you a score malus (you will lose score points)
Scavenging for fruits is everything but an easy job!
All maps are populated by dozens of enemies. They will damage your health each time they manage to touch you.
Each time an enemy kicks you, you will lose between 10 and 20 HP on your health bar. When you get kicked by an enemy, your Ape briefly gets a red blinking aura to indicate that his health was damaged.
If your HP bar falls down to 0, you will die and the game session will be over.
There are dozens of different enemies, coming in all shapes and size. Some walk, some run, some fly and some are statics. Keep your eyes open to spot them!
Enemies are obviously dangerous since they can kill you. However, they also represent a potential source of score points.
Indeed, you can kill all enemies by jumping above them and landing on top of them.
You will get a random number of enemy points for each enemy you kill within a set range based on their size. You will receive:
There are 5 types of bonuses you can obtain while playing. Some will require equipping your Ape with a specific badge while some others are only dependant of your playing style.
Once you run out of time or our of HP, the game session will end and a game over board showing your final score will appear. Your Final score is the sum of all other scores: โ Fruit Score + Enemy Score + A, P, E, S + HP left + Time Bonus = FINAL SCORE
Your Final Score will be taken into account for 2 categories of rewards: the best accumulated scores and the best single scores of the week.
The Great Escape is a Play & Earn game based on a fundamental idea : the sustainability of the Rewards.
The Prize Pool is primarily made of 2 tokens*: GLMR (Moonbeam native token) and BANANAS ($GLMB).
* * extra occasional rewards in other tokens can also be periodically be added to the prize pool.
How does that work?
For the GLMR tokens:
The prize pool is financed by a portion of the DAOโs income (the rest is added to staking to keep on increasing the treasury):
The weekly prize pool is the sum of:
For the BANANAS token ๐
The weekly prize pool is made of 30% of the $BANANAS collected through the game fees of the previous week.
The remaining 70% of the GLMB game fees collected are:
The Weekly Prize Pool of week is split bewteen 4 categories of prizes:
Best Accumulated Score (50%)
Best Single Score (4 x 5 = 20%)
Playerโs cashback (25%)
Tournaments (5%)
